This course will provide you with the problem-solving framework you will use to approach all Lean improvement projects (including your Green Belt). Moreover, you will learn all the steps and considerations of initiating and planning your projects. We will build upon your current toolbox and prepare you for real-life application of Lean within your organization.

Objectives

 

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  1. distinguish between key characteristics of the Lean and Six Sigma approaches to process improvement;
  2. describe the problem-solving frameworks of Six Sigma (DMAIC) and Lean (PDCA);
  3. identify the function of each element of the PDCA framework and explain the associated tool, the A3, as a basis for approaching and initiating Lean projects;
  4. select projects and identify the project team;
  5. recognize common project risks and how to mitigate them; and
  6. describe and apply the main project management tools.
